Michael J. Korber was born in New York in 1962 and is of Italian/German descent. With origins at the prestigious Pratt Institute, he has traveled as fast as the dynamic lines of his unique painting style Pyrotechnic Iconographism. Portrait of the artist M. J. Korber. Today, his works delight visitors in eleven museums and public buildings on three continents, including the Museo Della Grafica, in Naro (province Agrigento Italy) in the 15th Century Palazzo Malfitano, where his works, with those of 12 other nations, join works of Great Masters Rembrandt and Goya, among others. His exhibitions have fared worldwide: after the USA (New York, Philadelphia, Palm Beach) he enthused Latin America (Venezuela, Puerto Rico), Lebanon, the UNESCO Palace in Beirut, Egypt at the Modern Art Museum in Cairo, to finally devote his attention to Europe with Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Spain Portugal, and Great Britain. His unique approach has earned him multiple international awards, including Grand Prix des Arts in 2001 at the Malta Int'l Art Biennale, winner in painting category of the Grolla d'Oro di Treviso in Italy, first prize in Paris in 2003, recognition of artistic achievement by the United Nations (REMPEC) in 2004 in Malta and Special Acclaim Award at the Madeira Art Bienal 2013 in Portugal. Most recently Korber was bestowed the honorary title of "Caballero" by the Prince and Princess (Principesca y Ducal Casa de Riboalte) of Spain. Awards and Distinctions:
