| The following body of work is influenced by the awesome photos taken by the Hubble Space Telescope. For the artist, these photos emphasizes the inter-connectivity of the universe. As above, so below. Atoms resemble solar systems in miniature. Cloud formations here are seen magnified a million times out there. In evoking this unity of nature Ashley Coll creates a background using Chinese ink on rice paper. The rice paper is then adhered to and supported on stretched canvas. The painting is then finished in acrylic with textural embellishments to enhance detail. | ||
